IMPORTATION TARIFFS
Supreme Decree 5518 of January 13, 2026, reduces the tariff rate to zero percent (0%) for the importation of electronic devices included in the tariff subheadings listed in the Annex to the Decree. This measure will remain in force until December 31, 2026.
SUPREME DECREE No. 5519
E-GOVERNMENT
Supreme Decree 5519 of January 13, 2026, amends and incorporates new provisions to Supreme Decree No. 2514 (DS 2514) of September 9, Decree that creates the Agency for Electronic Government and Information and Communication Technologies (AGETIC) establishing new responsibilities to strengthen the implementation of Electronic Government and information security within the public sector. These changes incorporate actions aimed at reducing the digital divide, promoting transparency, access to public information, and citizen participation. The decree also prioritizes improving the quality and efficiency of public services through information and communication technologies, for which the following provisions are adopted:
- Certification and digital signature services are authorized for individuals and entities, both public and private.
- Public sector entities must comply with information security obligations, including reporting any cybersecurity incident to the Computer Incident Management Center (CGII) within a maximum period of 24 hours.
- Coordination between public sector entities and AGETIC is reinforced for the development of institutional plans related to Electronic Government, Information Security, and the implementation of Free Software and Open Standards.
Effective February 27, 2026, the ADSIB will be closed, and effective January 15, 2026, the AGETIC will assume the functions of the ADSIB as established in current regulations.
Finally, Supreme Decrees No. 26553 of March 19, 2002, which established the legal and institutional framework for the implementation of New Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), and No. 27739 of September 22, 2004, which amended this Decree, are abrogated.
Supreme Decrees 5518 and 5519 are in force from the date of their publication, in accordance with the transitional periods and deadlines established in their text.
